We are seeking an experienced Senior Offshore HV Cables Engineer to join the team in Seoul. This role will focus on supporting offshore wind project development, design construction, and engineering, to operation and maintenance, asset management, and performance optimisation.Responsibilities
- Actively liaise & coordinate with the Cables Package Manager to cooperatively manage the export cable supply package
- Manage and coordinate technical due diligence and also ensure DNV certification is achieved by the supply Contractors
- Technically check and confirm Contractor’s engineering and design, with particular focus on cable ampacity calculations, to enable the project to select the right cable cross-section. Calculations are critical for the project and are required for documentation for any crossing agreements.
- Check and confirm Contractors: type testing, manufacturing, FAT, jointing works, termination works, site acceptance testing, commissioning, final documentation and handover are compliant with ER’s and latest international standards.
- Attend Type Test and Factory Acceptance Test witnessing and regularly follow up the Technically support the CABLES (CAB) package, including for the cable crossing as required by the Cable T&I Manager
- Provide required documentation and technical input to for the Project, including to O&M and QA technical documents
- Electrical Engineering degree or similar
- Understand Project Management – Scope management (verify and control), Interface coordination, Change management and Acceptance of deliverables
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical transmission/underground transmission cable systems, particularly subsea cables
